It seems that sometime last night, our time, there was an announcement that Industrial Heat (the venture capitalist firm partnered with Rossi) has filed for a world patent on the ECAT.

This patent description has very, very detailed text on it's operation. So much so that anyone reading it and is skilled in fabrication could make one. And a lot of people plan to do just that.

It does not delve into the "fuel" as that has been covered in Rossi's already won US patent received on the 25th.

The peanut gallery conjecture is that this is part of the overall, multi-pronged attempt of  patent protection encompassing and all aspects of the E-Cat's operation but without saying the words - COLD FUSION or LENR or anything similar to that "crack-pot-pseudoscience" which immediately turns off the PO.

It allows for the protection of the device from many different aspects so as to prevent others from undermining Rossi, et al. plans in stealing away the device .

This is being accomplished by all the lawyer muscle provided by Cherokee Investments (that's the VC firm). There are purported to have some very big Boston law firm writing up this stuff.

It's nice to have deep pockets.

The "believers" like me, are in pandemonium with excitement of these last announcements. It stirs excitement and anticipation of what happens next.

Kinda of like watching a really riveting movie where you don't want to leave for a moment even to go to the restroom.

Very little is being said on this by the media. It figures as they have been hushed up about this from the beginning. But here's one small blurb about the latest revelations. From the Falls-Church Press!?! What? Who?

Anyway, this is the only thing I could find.

Gas prices are still dropping even during the Summer months. Oil prices for crude remain lower than in more than a decade.

Stock market is free falling. Global markets in turbulence.

$2.1 trillion erased from stocks in the last week.

Experts expect more to drop.

I guess this is what happens when you start shifting away 30% of the global economy from the ones that currently control it.

You know what it kind of reminds me of? It like in the movie Close Encounters in that one scene where the character played by Dreyfuss says to that women character as they are up in devil's tower watching it all unfold - "...we're the only ones that know!" 

The End of Fossil Fuel Has Begun

With the recent Obama announcement of proposed regulations to limit greenhouse gases, one side of the fossil fuel pyramid is eroding.

Coal. The most commonly used fuel to feed America’s electrical power plants will now face a limited demand. In part, because the use of cheap natural gas supplies and in part because of looming new federal regulations.

Coal accounts for 28 percent of the greenhouse gasses produced in our country because of its use in the generation of electricity.

On Monday, in coincidence with Obama’s pledge to reduce the pollution from Coal fired electrical production, Alpha Natural Resources of Wyoming, one of the largest coal producers, had filed for Chapter 11 protection.

Does this flag the pending doom of one of the pillars of fossil fuel usage?

Is this also linked to the last years drop in oil prices?

Is all of the above related to a yet, unseen force directing away from the archaic use of fossil for energy production? Because of what – Solar?  

What else could be creating this tide of change?

Didn’t all the experts in financial circles predict that the Chinese markets for coal and oil will expand forever?

A few years ago, the so called “experts”, again, were forecasting the “Peak Oil” crisis. We were all going to experience the ever increasing costs of fuel because of the scarcity of the commodity. This huge market was climbing out of their poverty into the land of industrialization and they were going to consume vast amount of the stuff.

All BS – apparently.

Something had dramatically turned the tables on all these forecasts and I can’t believe that its renewables. I don’t think anyone with even a limited knowledge of markets can believe that line of reasoning.

What has put such a huge chink in the armor of fossil?

Could it be that some of the insiders, the really BIG insiders, know something about the recent break-outs in technology of cold fusion/LENR?

I believe that they do and its effect is beginning to take hold. Just look for yourselves.

Replication of the LENR effect first proclaimed by Andrea Rossi is now being duplicated in many laboratories around the world. 

There have been announcements of new corporations forming to push this technology forward.

Patent applications in the field of LENR or cold fusion technology are being applied for.

It’s somewhat different realization then what we had first hoped for - but it is happening.

LENR is becoming accepted as real and may be our best bet for the future.

LENR is not only for our future prosperity but also for our continued existence.

E-Cat Report Released

The long awaited independent report on the E-Cat has surfaced

It's positive.

With the 32 days of testing on the device the energy production results are positive – the COP factor is between 3.2 to 3.6 with temperature runs of 1260 degrees C to 1400 degrees C.
Total energy of 1.5 MWh from approximately 1 gram of fuel.

Heat produced beyond that of any chemical burning.

Fuel undergoes a nuclear transformation. Residual ash is being produced with indications of  isotopes of the metals nickle and lithium - Li 6 and Ni 62

No nuclear radioactive wastes product and no emission of radiation.

Additional materials used in reaction from what was first understood or revealed. The “secret sauce” composed of lithium and aluminum.

Reactor vessel composed of a silica-alumina composition.

The imminent publication of the second and most in-depth testing of the E-Cat is nearing release. This is important for a number of factors including. But first and foremost is that it’ll be from an independent assemblage of international scientist. Unbiased in its results, the report will substantiate the functioning of the E-Cat. It will also vindicate the inventor, Andrea Rossi from all the last 4 years of false accusations on the genuineness of his earth-shattering innovation in energy production.

Speculation is for the release to occur anytime this month. The strongest suggested rumors hint at possibly sometime around October 8 to October 15.

What happens next?

Will the media finally become brave enough to actually look at it and begin the long overdue reporting of this amazing discovery? So far, the only news reported on this has been through small collections of impassioned followers. Generally the dissemination of information has been through discussion groups or blogs like this.

Will there be a gradual sinking-in of just how much an impact of such a revolutionary device like this will make to the masses or will it hit the earth like an asteroid?  

An interesting and possibly related tidbit of financial news is that oil futures recently dropped below $90 to $89.56/bl. Historically, oil futures should be trending upwards with anticipation of the winter cold approaching.  Winter heating oil usage would be in demand.

The main stream news rational for the price drop is due to over production in the middle-East. It’s said that Saudi Arabia citing the need to cut their prices. Also, that there was an underuse of gasoline this past summer.

Nickel Prices Begining to Soar

It was some time ago that I had encouraged people to look at nickle metal as a serious investment opportunity as mentioned in this blog. Primarily, because of it's use in the upcoming LENR devices.
Now the actual quantity of the metal per device will be infinitesimal, in the order of grams per device, the public perception of it as a source of key raw material for these fantastic devices will be enormous.
Usually, the best way to capitalize on any investment is to buy low an sell high, regardless of it's actual tangible use or its scarcity.
Nickel is believed to be the second most abundant element in the Earth's core right after iron and it is estimated that there is about 140 million tons of nickel available in identified deposits. It's also plentiful in sea water with an availability of 5.6 x 10^-4 mg per liter.
Around 87,000 tons of nickel is recovered annually by recycling stainless steel and other nickel-iron alloys. This represents about 39% of the nickel used each year.
So, as you can see, there's really no scarcity of the metal.
But something is happening with the price of the metal.
Could it be only for an expected surge in it's use for stainless steel, or is it for some other reason?

Recently placed interview on the Oilprice.com website reads very will of Andrea Rossi and his invention.

The author, James Burgess seemingly conducts an impartial interview with Rossi.

Many question were posed to Rossi including his view on the Hyperion device from Defkalion Green Technologies.

However.he did not wish to comment on this.

Is NASA Trying to Capture Some of the Glory?

It seems that NASA is attempting to dodge the public backlash that is going to hit them right after the masses become aware of the Rossi-Focardi Effect.

In other words...
"We could have had this technology 20 years ago!! What the hell have you guys been doing all this time?!? Some little guy in Italy working in his back-room developed it first!!"

NASA has posted this video to the NASA Technology Gateway.

In it, senior scientist, Joseph Zawodny describes the "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" that may be possible from the Ni and H fusion (LENR) technology.
This is just about ready to spring forth with Rossi announcing the planned sales of his E-Cats.
Initially planning to manufacture and sell over one-million units the first year, at $50 per kW .*
Not to mention his already built and delivered 1 MW plants. 13 at last count.

It may be further evidence that something remarkable is about to happen. And NASA doesn't want to look like they're totally in the dark.

Can you blame them?

One of the greatest governmental agencies, a technological juggernaut, may just have been caught with their pants down with this one. Rossi’s invention may have totally blindsided them. And now, they are trying to do a little "spin recovery" by trying to capture some of the glory of the explosive implications that this technology will bring.

Commentary

So much has been written of the Energy Catalyser of late that it’s becoming harder to discern any real credible and noteworthy news - to separate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak.

I’ve withheld any recent posts to this modest blog as I feel it is somewhat irresponsible to continue to espouse on some E-Cat related news reports that may only be hyperbole.

So instead, I’ve been reading through other’s blogs looking for any items which I may have not been aware of.

One which I’ve just happened to begin reading again was Steven Krivit’s New Energy Times Blog.

The only reason that I happened on it was reading my web logs and noticing considerable traffic being referred from this site.

I noticed that he had a recent post which claims that the multitude of Rossi, E-Cat, LENR pages that recently surfaced is due to a form of “tribalization”.

My blog was listed along with many other blogs supportive to Andrea Rossi and the potential of his invention had been posted under the tagline of “The E-Cat Tribe”.

According to a quotation in his post from Ugo Bardi of the University of Florence, it would appear that if something spurs a flurry of great interest within cyberspace it becomes a “virtual tribe”. Basically, all just repeating the same thing others have recently reported. Funny, I thought thats how the Internet worked and things of interest whether relevant and topical,  or not,  goes “viral”.

I imagine that it annoys the likes of someone so predisposed to a ridged scientific approach to any unfounded claims of a means of revolutionary energy production.

Regardless, I thank Mr. Krivit for his generosity, unintentional as it probably was.

Rossi Expects Certification in 9 Months - No Competion Expected

Andrea Rossi mentions in the Journal of Nuclear Physics that he expects to have compliance certification by next Fall.
Just what government body is going to authorize this "certification" is unknown.
From deducing his comment, it appears that when he says ..."are in course" he is saying that the certification process has started.

Rossi also has indicated that he expects to sell well over one million units, initially. And that he also expects them to be priced so that any competing products from other manufactures would be essentially eliminated.

  Dear Craig:
  To give the name of a Customer of ours means that within 1 day he will receive hundreds of mails, phone calls, letters, most of them from snakes, creating a lss of time. To avoid all this meaningless noise, we will give the reference only in due time. For now t is premature.
  The sale of our E-Cats will not depend on tis factor, believe me. We will put for sale 1 million E-Cats at price lower than normal heating systems.

Defkalion and their Hyperion LENR

Here is the official release of Defkalion G.T.G. model of energy generator.

Whether or not it infringes on Andrea Rossi's E-Cat invention will still need to be sorted out.
As said before, Rossi had never given them any information on the details of the E-cat or had given them an actual device. If there is similarity between the E-Cat and the Hyperion, they may have surreptitiously obtained confidential data from Rossi by convert means.
